A quick post before I leave work

I wanted to tell a quick story from this morning.

Now that we have a kitty, we don't put our dog Willy in his cage to sleep at night. Having the cat to play with seems to keep him out of trouble, most of the time. I don't know if they are getting bored with each other or something, but they seem to be extra destructive lately. When the cat was a baby, we didn't have to worry about him getting into things and knocking things off shelves, etc. Now, Tucker's 5 months old and can jump onto counters, tables, you name it. Jon's found him sleeping in the bathroom sink before! He loves to get onto the kitchen counter and the table, and push the cups around. Luckily, he doesn't chew anything, he's just curious and likes to play with things. Unfortunately, the dog will chew anything he can get his mouth on...homework, plants, my favorite pair of boots, headphones, a bible, just to name a few. There's a lot of teamwork going on in our house these days. Tucker knocks things onto the ground - Willy chews everything to bits. I woke up this morning and walked into the dining room and saw little pieces of something all over the carpet. I turned the light on and looked closer and realized that Tucker had knocked down a mini christmas tree I had set on a shelf. The animals must have been working all night to create their masterpiece of a mess. All the pinecones were ripped off and chewed to pieces. Willy had shattered all the tiny ornaments and there were pieces of glass everywhere. I was so mad...I had just put up some Christmas decorations LAST NIGHT. They didn't even survive a few hours. Does anyone know a cat whisperer? I love our animals, but sometimes I've just about had it.

I'm interested to see what the fate of our actual Christmas tree will be.

  1. I'm plugging my ears...won't listen to you talk badly about these precious little angels! : )
(It must have been their rowdy friends they had over while you were sleeping.)
