Where did January go?

I can't believe this month is close to being over. Well, it feels like it. I guess we have a couple more weeks. Here are some things that have been happening to us lately:

-Our friend Jake left to go back to NC earlier this month. We hung out with him and his family one last time and played monopoly and ate great food, as usual. (His mom was the one who catered our wedding...I probably gained ten pounds from all the good food we ate at her house while Jake was home.) We've been thinking about him and praying for him and his family as he deployed today and will be on a ship for several months. Playing Monopoly. I don't think we actually got any pictures with Jake himself though hah.

-Also over break, we went out with some friends of ours from school. Feeny, Greg, Jon, Me, and Annmarie :) Night before New Years Eve

-One of the doctors at my work gave me some tickets to a Piston's game, so Jon and I took my parents. It was a great game...they kept things exciting by going into over time and then winning! AND, it happened to be our 5 month anniversary! My parents took us to eat at Chile's before the game, which was a nice treat :) I forgot to mention in my last post that one of my parent's gifts to everyone in my family was tickets to a Michigan basketball game next month. I love college basketball and I'm so excited!
This was the best picture we could get...

-Jon's former roommates from CMU came over to hang out for the night. It's always fun to see our Central friends. The first dorm room they had together was room 212. How adorable.

My least favorite thing that happened this month was that I started a new semester. I feel slightly more prepared taking the second parts of my anatomy and english classes, since I know more of what to expect, and I know that I need to STUDY more. That's always fun. Jon has been waiting and waiting to hear about a new job possibility. He finally got a call today and is going for a final interview tomorrow! This means he will finally have a full time, Monday through Friday job and he can personal train on the side to make more money! We're very excited and praying that everything works out. Speaking of working out, I've been doing the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred (ok well I've only had time to do it about 4 times so far) and it kicks my butt! Anyone who's looking for a good workout, try this! It's only 20 minutes long, but I could hardly get through it the first couple times and it made me so sore the next day. I highly reccommend it.

Well folks, that's all for now.

Happy Holidays...a little late.

Welp, I'm terrible at updating this thing. Usually, I'm just not in the mood to write. But tonight, I'm going to give it a go.

So far, all that's happened since the last post was Christmas and New years. I shouldn't say "all" that's happened - those are pretty big holidays. We went to a Christmas service at a church called The River a few days before Christmas, and it was fun to check out a new church. We've been going to different churches in the area with our friends Megan and Aaron, trying to find one that we all love.
Jon and I spent all day Christmas at my parents house. It was so fun. We opened our gifts to each other here at our apartment first, and then packed up the animals and headed to my parents to hang out for the day. It was such a fun, relaxing day. Everyone was so generous with their gifts to us, and they gave us way way more than they should have. My dad had a surprise for everyone - he bought Beatles Rock Band and had it set up in the basement, so we all played that a lot during the day. My grandma and my great aunt came later for dinner. Jon and I ended up staying pretty late, until I couldn't stay awake anymore and I requested to go home, even though I didn't want to.
Oh, I forgot to mention that Jon and I were both pretty sick in the days leading up to Christmas. I had some sort of stomach flu, and I'm convinced he had the swine flu. Not fun. So we both missed some work, but in the end, it was really nice to actually be home together at the same time, since our work schedules rarely allow that.
Jon and I both took work off so we could have a 4 day weekend for New Years. That was really great to both be healthy and get to relax. I have a tradition with two friends from school that we started freshman year: we've spent every New Years together for the past 4 years. We were all going our separate ways this year, so we all went out together on the night before New Years Eve. Then, for New Years, we spent the evening with our friend Jake and his family. Jake's a good friend of ours and he's home on leave from the Marines. His family is a blast to hang out with, and both of his sisters have new babies, so that's really fun. It was a really low-key night, which was perfect. The rest of the weekend, we finally finished Prison Break, which we've been watching for about 4 months now. We laid around in our pajamas all day, ate junk food, and did nothing. It was exactly what we needed. Also, we went and saw Avatar, which was amazing. It was unlike anything I've ever seen before. I'm not sure that I liked seeing it in 3D though...a little hard for my eyes to adjust. But it was such a sweet movie. Yesterday, we went to church with our friends, and then went to Jake's again for some good food and board games. Jon and I went on a date to On the Border for dinner, thanks to a gift card from his grandparents :)
Our nice little break finally came to an end and we both went back to work today. It was a tiring day, to say the least (It's 7:15pm and Jon's already asleep...) but I'm just so thankful I don't have class this week. I'm not looking forward to going back to school next Monday.
I wish I had taken more pictures during this past week, but I didn't really, and I'm too lazy to upload the ones I did take. So, maybe I'll post some later.
